The India Circus: A Political Satire By Gopakumar Rajan

Once upon a time in the land of India, there existed a political circus. The politicians arrived in colorful outfits and performed grand acts to appease the Indian voters. The tricks involved making promises, providing freebies, and delivering speeches while pandering to the sentiments of the masses.

The Indian voters enjoyed the show and clapped their hands in glee, but little did they realize that they were being played by the circus. The politicians kept them distracted with entertaining acts, while they siphoned off the nation's resources behind the curtain.

The voters, clueless and ignorant, kept returning to the circus every five years, hoping for a better show. They never learned that the performers were the same despite the costumes they wore, switching from one group to another, and that they were just pawns in a systematic game of power and money.

The clowns were the ministers who made silly jokes and laughed it off when questioned about their actions. The jugglers were the lawmakers who tossed bills and laws around but never managed to pass anything substantial. The tightrope walkers were the bureaucrats who balanced between party lines and government policies. The animal trainers were the media who kept the crowds entertained with sensational news, but never reported the true state of affairs.

The Indian voters were like circus animals, tamed and trained to vote for their respective political parties without ever questioning the lack of progress. They remained chained to their biases and prejudices, and the politicians kept them under control with the whip of communalism and caste politics.

The circus of Indian politics continued unabated, with each show more grand and disillusioning than the other. The people remained spectators, never realizing that they were the fools in the grand scheme of things.

In conclusion, the Indian political circus was a mockery of democracy, with the politicians and voters playing their parts to perfection. Until the day, the Indian voters awaken from their slumber and realize that they hold the power to break free from the circus and demand the change they seek.
